One of my unofficials came to Louisiana on R&R in January 2011. Spc. Henry Ford insisted on paying a visit to Catholic High School in Baton Rouge where my son attends high school. CHS had collected supplies for Day of the Deployed and Henry was the recipient of several boxes of those supplies. He wanted to thank the students and staff personally for all they had done for him.
Four nights before he was to return to Afghanistan, we had Henry and his son over to our house for dinner. I surprised him with a cake and a couple of presents because the day before he was to return to Afghanistan, was his birthday. I do believe he was totally shocked! It was an awesome visit and we can't wait to see him again when he returns in May!
