With all of the hustle and bustle of our lives, it seems that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan has become just noise playing in the background like the distant chatter of a radio that isn't quite tuned in. We go about our daily lives, see the news, form our opinions from time to time, and share them at the office water cooler or in passing through our daily routines.

Every single citizen should have the opportunity to meet an             American service member that has been deployed while we are going about our lives here in the land of the free and home of the brave. If you don't have access to meet a provider of our freedom, how about reaching out to let them know that you do care by getting involved with one of our outreach projects.

The 2008 holiday outreach to send "Blankets of Belief" in "Wrapped in Holiday Spirit" packs to 180,000 of our deployed heroes is in progress! Over 200 blankets have already been received at our warehouses. We encourage all Angels to take responsibility for getting JUST ONE blanket sent in which would put us over our goal with just that ONE effort.

Please visit www.soldiersangels.org and link to "Blankets of Belief."

If you have questions, please contact blanketsofbelief@gmail.com.

Deb DelCorio, Captain of the Sand and Cooling Scarves program,
reminds us that it's getting hot, hot, hot in Iraq!  Please visit
www.soldiersangels.org and scroll down to the "Scarves" link in the             middle of the page for information on making or donating scarves to help our deployed troops better cope with the elements this summer.

Soldiers' Angels will soon announce the "Blankets of Gratitude" campaign to provide thousands of hand knit and crocheted afghans to our veteran heroes this holiday season.  If you crochet or knit, would you be able to make just one afghan?  Look for complete information coming soon to the Soldiers' Angels website.
